German Mail Order Giant Quelle Enters Car Market

25 July 2003

German mail-order mammoth Quelle is risking the wrath of auto marketers after commencing cut-price car sales via the internet.

The group – a unit of Karstadt Quelle, Europe's largest department store company – is offering a range of discounted cars on its website. Rebates start at 10% for DaimlerChrysler’s Smart models to 22% for cars made by Ford Motor Company. All are available in three colours.

Financing deals, trade-ins and repairs are handled through car distributor Carplus.
