Ford Revamps Global Marketing, Promotes Family Member

30 January 2009

DEARBOURN, Michigan: Cognizant of the bewhiskered doggerel (When the market's looking negative, play it safe, go hire a relative), Ford Motor Company has promoted family member Elena Ford (pictured) to the role of director, global marketing, sales and service operations.

Formerly in a similar role at Ford Credit, she will shoulder responsibility for global marketing and creating a more consistent and compelling proposition for customers worldwide.

She reports to group vp marketing and communication Jim Farley, who dutifully delivered the automaker's current corporate mantra ...

"Enhancing the Global Marketing organization is the next step in our One Ford vision to integrate Ford's worldwide operations and leverage our scale and expertise."
