BSkyB became the first national broadcaster in Britain to offer a free internet service, SkyNow ... Dell Computer has gone one better with, a pan-European service ... GWR is harnessing its premier radio brand Classic FM to establish a presence as an ISP with Classic Freenet ... Nationwide joins the herd in August by ex-tending its existing online services, with free access CD-Roms available from all its high street branches ... and last but never least, United News & Media is capitalising on its jointly-owned [with BT] free ISP LineOne by offering the service gratis to viewers of its four ITV franchises, Anglia, Meridian, HTV West and HTV Wales.
