FEDMA Appoints Vice Chair to Liaise with National DM Bodies

15 October 2002

In a bid to build closer relations with individual national direct marketing bodies across Europe, FEDMA (Federation of European Direct Marketing Associations) has created the new post of vice chairman charged with that specific responsibility.

The role is taken by James Kelly , managing director of the DMA UK and existing FEDMA board member, who will “continue to ensure that the national DMAs and FEDMA work closely together on all self-regulatory issues such as data protection, ecommerce and consumer protection.”

The new appointment in no way diminishes Kelly’s extant role at the DMA UK, where he continues to be responsible for all indigenous activities.

He will also “co-ordinate lobby strategies at national and European level; and exchange information on the implementation of European directives into national legislation.”

Comments FEDMA director general Alastair Tempest: “Our co-operation with the [national] DMAs is essential to our work in Brussels and it is important for us that one Board member is fully dedicated to further develop our relations in Europe.”
