FCB Launches New Asian Ad Network

Interface, a new Asian-region marketing and communications network, has been launched by Interpublic’s Foote Cone & Belding unit. The full-service fledgling will work alongside IPG’s other brands in the region – McCann-Erickson Worldwide and Lowe & Partners Worldwide.

Explains Hong Kong-based Ben Barnes, FCB’s president/ceo for Asia/Pacific: “The creation of Interface provides the network with an opportunity to manage conflicting client accounts, as well as to offer greater career opportunities to staff.”

Interface, already operational in India, will extend to China, Taiwan and Malaysia, while in Hong Kong and Singapore it absorbs the operations and accounts of Grant Advertising. Administration and media resources will be shared with FCB, but Interface will otherwise operate independently.

Among the key clients already served - or transferring to – Interface are the Bank of East Asia, Friesland, Hong Kong Economic Times and Blue Cross in Hong Kong; National Panasonic, Bintang Berhad - Mercedes Benz in Malaysia; and in India: Mahindra Bolero utility vehicles, Margo Soap, Blue Star air-conditioning, Birla White Cement, National Dairy Development Board.
