FCB Goes on Global Acquisition Spree

20 December 2000

True North network FCB Worldwide has bought two overseas agencies to strengthen its global presence.

In South Korea, FCB has acquired Hahnin, whose clients include Web-2-Phone and Han-dok. The new agency, branded FCB Hahnin and headed by current president of FCB Korea K.S. Cho, will have over $40 million in billings, putting it among Korea’s top ten international shops.

The other snip is France’s Acam, a leading proximity advertising agency whose clients include supermarket chain Carrefour and direct mail company Mediaposte. Branded FCB/Acam, the agency will integrate into FCB’s French operations under the presidency of Didier Stora, currently executive vice president of FCB/France.

Financial details of the deals have not been disclosed.
