European News Channel Launches Multilingial Search Engine

EuroNews, a major European news channel headquartered in Lyon Ecully, France, has joined with a US-based internet company to launch - claimed to be the first European-oriented search engine

EuroNews will feature the Accoona tool bar on its website, allowing users to search in any of the languages in which the channel broadcasts simultaneously: English, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Russian and Spanish.

The channel will also air a TV spot promoting Accoona worldwide with a potential reach of 187 million homes in 120 countries.

Says EuroNews chairman/ceo Philippe Cayla: "This partnership enhances the quality of online search by creating new technologies now available for all Europeans."

Accoona is a New Jersey based-internet company. Its main product is a search engine that claims to use artificial intelligence to more accurately refine searches.
