Emap To Break Up Or Sell Up Its Assets

30 July 2007

LONDON: Ailing Emap is to review the structure of its magazine, radio and events empire after coming under increasing pressure from shareholders to spin-off or sell its various units.

The company - whose magazine titles include FHM and Heat, and Kiss 100 radio station - says it has called in advisers to help it in its disposals programme.

In a statement the company says: "The board of Emap . . . announces that, in response to various unsolicited proposals it has received recently for parts of the group, it is undertaking a review of Emap's group structure and portfolio of assets."

In addition, the company is continuing its search for a new ceo, following the departure of Tom Moloney earlier this year.
