Ecommerce Up 39% in 2002, UK Study Finds

Latest government figures show that ecommerce surged 39% last year.

A study from the Office for National Statistics puts the total value of online shopping and other web transactions in 2002 at £23.3 billion ($40.2bn; €33.1bn), around 1.2% of all sales.

The sectors attracting most online business were wholesale, retail, catering, travel and telecoms.
