Disney Applauds iTunes Movie Sales

LOS ANGELES: The Mouse House has sold 125,000 digital copies of its movies through Apple Computer's iTunes store in less than a week, generating $1 million [€789k; £531k, according to ceo Robert Iger.

The Walt Disney Company expects revenue of $50 million in the first year of its alliance with the maker of the ubiquiitous iPod music player [WARC News: 13-Sept-06].

Disney is the sole vendor of films via iTunes thanks to the presence on its board of Apple ceo Steve Jobs - now its largest single shareholder following the company's recent acquisition of Pixar Animation Studios.
