December Ad Revenues Nose-Dive at Britain’s ITV

13 November 2002

Yet more woe for beleaguered British commercial television giant ITV – December ad revenues are said to be down nearly 10% on the same month in 2001.

Advertising bookings for next month reportedly stand at £117 million ($186m; €184m), 9.6% down on last year, raising fears that a recent string of monthly rises did not herald a sustained recovery.

The disappointing ad outlook follows audience figures that show ITV is rapidly losing the advertiser-friendly 16–34-year-old audience to pay-TV channels [WAMN: 11-Nov-02].
