Omnicom-controlled DDB, Paris has won the $13 million pan-European advertising account for ifrance.com, a 300,000-subscriber French internet portal. The appointment follows a final playoff against Havas Advertising’s Paris-based subsidiary, Enjoy Scher Lafarge. Other contenders who fell in a first-round eliminator were independent agency Manitoba and another Havas-controlled shop, Euro RSCG BETC.

Scheduled to break in June, the campaign will aim to increase use of the portal in France as well as new sites to be launched this summer in Italy and Spain. Omnicom’s media specialist Optimum Media Direction will handle offline media buying, with DDB Interactive and OMDi respectively handling interactive ads and online space buying.
