Columbia TriStar to Audition for Media Duties

02 March 2001

Sony Pictures-owned movie distributor Columbia TriStar Films is on the prowl for an agency to handle its £12 million UK media account. The review is thought to cover both the Columbia Pictures and Columbia Video divisions.

The company may be considering a merger of its media planning and buying operations, currently divided between Saatchi & Saatchi and its sibling Zenith Media. The latter has been incumbent on the Columbia TriStar Films business for over ten years, and in 1999 won the Home Video duties.

Recent movies distributed by Columbia include Guy Ritchie flick Snatch, Graham Greene adaptation The End of the Affair and Julia Roberts’ Oscar-nominated vehicle Erin Brokovich.
