Coke North America Boss Moves to Clorox Role

01 September 2006

ATLANTA: The Coca-Cola Company has announced the resignation of Donald Knauss, president of its North America unit.

He is taking up the post of chairman-ceo at US household products giant Clorox after twelve years with Coke. He began his career with the latter as marketing svp for the Minute Maid brand.

Knauss' resignation comes at a difficult time for Coke in the US as consumers increasingly choose energy drinks and juices over sodas. The company has fallen behind its rivals in alternative beverages and is struggling to maintain growth and market share.
