08 March 2007

ATLANTA: Erstwhile Coca-Cola Company evp and president of marketing, strategy and innovation Mary Minnick departed earlier this year with a handsome $1.26 million (€960k; £653k) payoff.

Minnick, who resigned in January, had been with Coke for 23 years. She was passed over for the number two position at the company in favor of Muhtar Kent [WARC News: 11-Dec-06].

Her severance agreement precludes her from carrying out marketing duties for rivals such as PepsiCo for two years. She said at the time of her resignation that she wanted to pursue professional and personal goals in the UK.
