Chrysler Group Notches Overseas Sales Increase

FRANKFURT: Struggling US automaker Chrysler Group, currently the subject of an "options" review by its German parent DaimlerChrysler [WARC News: 16-Feb-07], was thrown a crumb of comfort in February when its overseas sales climbed 9% compared with the same period a year earlier.

The Dodge Caliber compact model, launched in 2006, is the top-selling brand outside North America so far this year.

Italian drivers have kept faith with the company, providing its biggest overseas market by volume, with sales up 2% in 2007. Sales in Germany have risen 13% during the first two months.
