Cendant Reorganises Brands, Prompting Four Departures

24 January 2002

A reorganisation at hotel giant Cendant has prompted the departure of four senior executives from their posts.

The group’s nine brands are being gathered into two groups: in one will be Days Inn, Ramada, Howard Johnson and Travelodge; in the other Super 8, Wingate Inns, AmeriHost Inns, Knights Inn and Villager Lodge. The former collection is headed by Joe Kane, one-time president of Days Inn; the latter by Bob Weller, previously president/ceo of Super 8.

Leaving their posts are the president/ceos of four of the brands: Bruce Bloom (Knights Inn), Steve Belmonte (Ramada), Bob Foley (Travelodge) and Ken Rodgers (Villager Lodge). Replacing Rodgers and Bloom is Anthony Falor, who becomes president/ceo of Villager and Knights Inn.

Each group of brands has its own vp–marketing: Nancy Poor for the collection comprising Days Inn etc and Tom McNulty for the other.
