Carlton Creates Two New Divisions

16 November 2000

Media company Carlton Communications has announced it is restructuring many of its interests into two new divisions, Carlton Content and Carlton Channels.

Carlton Content will bundle together Carlton Productions, Carlton International and the group’s new-media arm. A chief executive for the division is being sought.

Carlton Channels, to be headed by chief executive of Carlton TV Clive Jones, will cover the group’s ITV activities and its involvement in digital and interactive media.

Astride the two will be an executive board headed by Gerry Murphy.

In a statement, the group commented that the move would “give Carlton a clearer structure, a lean management and a faster decision making process”.
