Carat Opens South Korean Office to Steer Global Hyundai Business

13 February 2002

Aegis-owned international media planning/buying network Carat, still celebrating its £450 million Hyundai win [Accounts on the Move: 01-Feb-02], is to open an office in South Korean capital Seoul to supervise the handling of the account which is headquartered in the same city.

The office, Carat’s nineteenth in the Asia Pacific region, will be headed by managing director Myung Hwan Oh, recruited from local rival Cheil Communications. The office will also work for Philips and Volkswagen – despite the apparent conflict between the latter and Hyundai.
