D'Arcy Masius Benton & Bowles has been awarded the global business of Paris-based Cap Gemini Ernst & Young, the internet and general business consultancy firm.

CGE&Y was formed earlier this year with the French group’s acquisition of the London-headquartered international accountancy, tax and consulting group. According to Cindy Greener, Cap Gemini marketing director for Britain and Ireland, the decision to appoint Bcom3-owned D’Arcy was the culmination of a three-month review that saw a shortlist shoot-out between the victor, the New York office of Euro RSCG Worldwide, and Amsterdam’s StrawberryFrog.

The account will be shared between D'Arcy’s New York office and MediaVest, Bcom3 Group's sibling media planning/buying specialist. Also involved will be Clarion Marketing & Communications of Greenwich, Connecticut, and Brand Optimization Services Group in New York.

Total annual billings are estimated at $50 million-plus.
