Bates North America Boss to Quit Global Pfizer Role

Bates Worldwide’s North American chairman and worldwide client director Mark Morris is to become vice chairman of Bates Group, the new Cordiant Communications unit housing the Bates network, marketing services agency 141, design shop Fitch and healthcare specialist Healthworld.

Effective January 1, the 61-year-old Morris will relinquish his present duties, including his role as the top executive on the worldwide account for Pfizer, Bates’ second biggest client.

Replacing him on the pharmaceutical giant’s global duties will be Howard Courtemanche, executive vp on the Pfizer business in North America.

In his new role, Morris will deal with senior executives at client companies, working with Bates Worldwide ceo David Hearn.
