Bates Given Four Pfizer Brands

24 November 2000

Pharmaceutical company Pfizer has awarded the creative accounts for four of its brands to Bates Worldwide in New York.

The four are Bonine (motion-sickness medicine), Desitin (diaper-rash treatment), Zantac (heartburn drug) and Rolaids (antacid). Combined billings are estimated at $40–50 million.

Explaining the selection, Pfizer said it wanted to “better balance” the accounts between its two main agencies Bates and J Walter Thompson in New York. It added that the move was recognition of “the quality work” done by Bates for Pfizer brands such as Benadryl and Sudafed.
