BBC Worldwide Appoints New Global Marketing VP

LONDON: BBC Worldwide – the commercial wing of the publicly-owned UK broadcaster – has named Clare Vincent, formerly a consultant for Target Entertainment, as its first vp of marketing.

She will take up the post late next month, charged with establishing the strategic marketing goals of BBC Worldwide's Sales and Distribution unit, which sells the Corporation's content to broadcasters and publishers around the world.

As well as having launched her own creative agency – CreativeVerve – Vincent has previously held the post of director of marketing at commercial TV distributor Granada International.

BBC Worldwide's profits totalled £117.7 million ($203m; €148m) in 2007–08, with sales of £916.3 million. Vincent will report to the organisation's managing director Steve Macallister.
