British Airways has invited a number of shops to pitch for the £6 million account covering its latest internet portal, part of its £100m eVentures project.

Incumbent agencies M&C Saatchi and TBWA/London have been selected, as have Soul and Ogilvy & Mather. Missing from the list, however, is HHCL & Partners, who cover above-the-line activities for budget arm Go and the London Eye.

The account is believed to consist of £3m for above-the-line activity and another £3m on below-the-line and online work. Selected agencies will pitch in the next fortnight.

The lifestyle portal, aimed at BA club cardholders, will offer consumers details about travel, fashion and leisure, offering them the chance to earn BA miles, a replacement for Air Miles. The airline hope to develop BA miles into a prominent e-currency.
