Arnell Group, a privately-owned US brand consultancy specialising in youth, urban, entertainment and multicultural marketing, has sold-out to Omnicom for an undisclosed sum.
Headed by founder, chairman and chief executive Peter Arnell, the eponymous group has been something of a corporate flirt. Last year it sold 55% of itself to Interpublic Group, buying back the entire stake last month while fluttering its lashes at other Romeos, among them WPP and Omnicom.
But Omnicom group president and ceo John Wren is clearly certain that this marriage is for keeps – not least because it was probably brokered by DaimlerChrysler which last week appointed Arnell to work with Omnicom-owned Pentamark, Chrysler’s dedicated lead advertising shop.
Says Wren: “Arnell Group gives Omnicom a significant competitive advantage in branded content and programming, which is what so many clients are seeking to complement their advertising, direct marketing and sales promotion activities,” he said.
New York-based Arnell also offers corporate identity, design, and traditional and interactive advertising services. It employs some 120 staff .
