Arbitron Postpones Satellite Radio Ratings

28 September 2006

NEW YORK: US radio audience measurement provider Arbitron is to delay yet again the inclusion of satellite channels in its local ratings. The company was due to begin reporting satellite radio for its fall 2006 survey.

Arbitron says it needs more time to refine the rules for crediting satellite radio listening, especially those governing diary entries assigned to stations that broadcast both on terrestrial and satellite platforms.

It will, however, include ratings for public radio stations as previously planned.
