PHOENIX: Time Warner, Procter & Gamble and Johnson & Johnson are among the major advertisers gathering this week to discuss the current trends in multicultural marketing in the US, which is seen as one possible growth area during the downturn.
The 2009 ANA Multicultural Marketing & Diversity Conference, according to its sponsor organisation, seeks to recognise "the intersection of multicultural marketing and diversity management in driving strong business growth."
Senior-level marketers from Ford, Hewlett-Packard, McDonald's and Wal-Mart will also present at the event, the programme for which covers a broad range of areas.
The highlights include a Time Warner multicultural media and entertainment study that promises to provide a comprehensive look at the media and entertainment attitudes and behaviors of African-American, Hispanic, and general market adults.
With regard to brands, JCPenney, one of America's leading retailers, will look at how to establish emotional connections to build customer loyalty and drive long-term growth with multicultural consumers.
CNN will also detail some analysis of its ground-breaking documentary series, Black in America, as well as a preview of the cable network's upcoming offering, Latino In America.
