About the company
CfMC turned 40 years old last year and has been aleader in the MR software industry since it was founded in San Francisco in 1967. Our software packages are unsurpassed for the design, implementation, administration and management of CATI and CAPI, web surveys, cross-tab and real-time report generation. We take pride in the quality of our services and the customer support we provide.

CfMC has branch offices in New York, Atlanta, Denver and London. We numbers among our clients ACNielsen, the Gallup Organisation and Maritz. Our products include Survent, WebSurvent, for interviewing on the internet, WebCATI for centrally controlled multi-location CATI interviewing, and SoundSurvent, for playing and recording sound during interviews.

CfMC also offers a service bureau that can write computer specifications for clients’ questionnaires, host online surveys on behalf of clients, tabulate and generate real-time and dynamic reports. So not only can the Service Bureau offer the most powerful, feature-rich online data-collection tool available, we also have a team of very talented and experienced researchers to look after client studies to ensure the highest-quality service.

Full service research
CfMC has a full integrated suite of research software available for any company serious about research. All products fit together seamlessly from composition of questionnaire, deployment in the field, data collection and online and on-demand reporting to allow for a fully integrated, multimodal solution.

Survey facilitation
Surveys can be scripted easily by using a browser-based, point-and-click application, empowering beginners to advanced programmers to quickly produce a CATI or web specification file. Web surveys can be compiled, tested, put into field using, project managed, generating real-time and dynamic reports using our powerful point-and-click project management tool.

Analysis
CfMC’s Mentor package is one of the most versatile and robust data manipulation and tabulation tools on the market today. Over 40 years of development yields features incomprehensible to most entrants in this market space. Our clients use Mentor for things far outside the box of data reporting, tabulation and statistical testing. It opens up a whole new world of possibilities – and offerings you can provide your clients.

Company philosophy
CfMC is an employee-owned company with a staff of just over 50 people. It has been in operation since 1967. From the beginning, our mission has been to work alongside our clients to develop the finest software for the market research industry. Combine that with our personal service and support, and you’ll see what makes CfMC the choice of many market research service firms.

Experience
CfMC is widely considered to be the premier software package in the MR industry. Since forming over 40 years ago we have established long-term relationships with our clients and have worked with them to deliver the software that they need to carry out exceptional research. In that time, we have encountered and resolved almost every research problem imaginable, to create a product that outshines those more recent entrants in the market.

CATI and web offers:

  • quotas – to limit over-sampling or using non-qualifiers for other studies
  • skip logic – to ensure the accuracy of the interview
  • rotation – to avoid bias in the sequence of questions presented
  • callbacks – if an interview is suspended in the middle, a callback can be scheduled to complete it
  • previous response – inserting an earlier response into a question
  • data access – age, purchases, and so on, from the respondent’s phone file can be accessed during the interview
  • conjoint analysis for web surveys.

Non-stop support CfMC technical support is unsurpassed in the industry. Our dedication to ensuring client success through training and support means that many clients often cite CfMC as the best in the industry.

Our support staff consists of people averaging more than ten years of experience in software and market research.

In addition to constantly monitoring incoming email and phone calls, we also offer additional types of support services, including a download site and email list (SpecTalk), and a 24-hour support hotline.

Our offices in London and the US mean that someone is always available from 9am to 2am GMT.

Typical projects
There is no such thing as a typical CfMC project. Although the software comes into its own in large, complex projects it is also flexible enough to be used, from a local five-station CATI project to a 600+ station, multi-location, multi-language job.
