Distinctive features
MARSC is a new concept in panel management, focusing strongly on the selection of samples for carefully targeted research projects. By maintaining a complete contact history record of all customers or panellists, MARSC allows researchers to target respondents based on their previous survey activity as well as demographic information. This allows the user to constantly refine the information kept about panellists in order to target those who are most likely to give good-quality answers to the research. This in turn leads to higher response rates.

For large and frequently used databases this process needs a specialist tool to reliably produce a statistically balanced sample while treating panellists or customers with respect. This is achieved within MARSC by using versatile contact controls, meaning you can interact with your panel as little or often as your business rules dictate.

Detailed sample reporting will highlight any quota shortfalls within the sample and, as well as tools to manually adjust the sample frames or collapse and merge groups of cells, MARSC can automatically balance the sample when shortfalls occur.

MARSC is an independent tool designed to operate alongside any interviewing software with simple processes for data transfer between systems.

Major research activities/formats supported

  • Sampling systems: Centurion is a specialist in providing sampling systems to support both market research agencies and corporate users. Typically used for customer satisfaction studies, CATI or high-volume online research, MARSC allows the user to easily build a complex target matrix of statistically balanced sample for research.
  • Online panel management: Used with the MARSC sample manager, Centurion’s panel management solution provides all the tools needed to build and manage online research panels. Customisable web portals provide for panellist online access, registration, screener survey hosting and reward/incentive management.
Training and technical support
MARSC is delivered as a package including installation, data upload and user training. We provide phone, email and online technical support covering UK and US east coast hours. For clients operating out of these time zones we are committed to providing next-day response.

Typical projects
We provide MARSC to both agency and corporate clients. For the majority of our agency clients MARSC is typically used for CATI or online panel research. For corporate use MARSC is used to sample from customer databases, with the samples typically being sent directly to research agencies to conduct the interviewing.

Through the work we have done to date we have become proficient at integrating MARSC with both off-the-shelf and bespoke interviewing systems, as well as other database systems.
