LONDON: The Blair administration's culture, media and sport select committee is to hold an inquiry into the UK's public service media content next year.

Under the spotlight will be the funding of PSB, the future of news provision and children's television and the prospects for the service once the country completes its switchover to digital-only broadcasting in 2012.

The inquiry will also examine media regulator Ofcom's proposal for a 'public service publisher' [WARC News: 04-Oct-04] for content on new media.

Interested parties have been invited to make submissions by January 18 2007.
