LONDON: Digital UK, the body set-up by Britain's public service broadcasters to oversee the switch from analogue to digital TV between 2007-2012, has appointed former Channel 4 managing director David Scott as its new ceo.

Scott, a 23-year veteran at C4, will replace Ford Ennals who departs in February to take up a marketing position at US sportswear giant Nike.

Digital UK is co-owned by the BBC, ITV, Channel 4, Five, S4C and Teletext, plus multiplex operators SDN and National Grid Wireless.
