LONDON: Broadsheet newspaper publisher the Telegraph Group is to lay off 133 employees as it moves towards print and digital newsroom integration at its new central London headquarters.
The company, once owned by fallen media baron Lord Conrad Black and now the property of reclusive tycoon twins Sir David and Sir Frederick Barclay, is facing industrial action by staff.
Ceo Murdoch MacLennan had previously said the Daily and Sunday Telegraph's move to a seven-day production cycle would incur "some job losses", but the figure now appears to be much higher than first anticipated.
