LONDON: Recently merged British pharmacy and beauty retail chain Alliance Boots says it is planning a £65 million ($127m; €95.5m) rebranding for most of its 900 stores within two years. The move is being hyped as the "biggest single expansion of the Boots brand in its history".

The company, which formed last year following the merger of the 150-year-old High Street name with Alliance UniChem, has just opened its books to billionaire deputy chairman Stefano Pessina and private equity firm Kohlberg Kravis Roberts following a renewed takeover offer.
