The New York Sun – the city’s new broadsheet newspaper – hit newsstands for the first time Tuesday, resurrecting a title that originally ran from 1833 until 1952.

Issued weekdays, the title runs to eighteen pages with an initial print run of 60,000. It will focus on New York affairs and take a center-right stance in its comment pages.

The Sun is backed by, among others, Lord Conrad Black, whose Hollinger International empire owns Britain’s Daily Telegraph, the Chicago Sun-Post and the Jerusalem Post.
