LONDON: Fans of the ongoing Sorrell vs Benatti legal soap opera were denied their fix Tuesday after the doors of London's High Court clanged shut, providing privacy for the opposing legal eagles to wrestle a possible deal between the show's stars.

Following a three-hour huddle, Desmond Browne QC (representing joint plaintiffs Sir Martin Sorrell and his close WPP Group colleague Daniela Weber) emerged to tell Mr Justice Eady that discussions "had not yet borne fruit".

Summoning every ounce of his considerable juridical gravitas M'Learned Friend told M'Lud: "I think all I really need to say is we hope to have news for your lordship first thing in the morning."

His Lordship nodded gravely and returned to his slumbers, drained by the rigours of his 10am-4pm working day.

The case continues.
