Still smarting from his ejection last year as chairman-designate of ITV plc, mercurial entrepreneur Michael Green is about to make his presence again felt in the UK media world.

Green (56), who reputedly has a personal piggybank of over £100 million ($185.85m; €148.03m), has set up offices in London's elite Mayfair district, having installed his former personal asistant Beverley Matthews and ex-Carlton finance director Paul Murray along with the deep-pile Axminster and Ron Arad furniture.

Furnished with all the essential accoutrements, Green is reportedly mulling a number of large-scale TV and marketing-related deals using an old corporate vehicle, Tangent Industries, as his new investment company. Or so reports London newspaper The Times.

But despite persistent rumours that he seeks vengeance on the money-men who unseated him from ITV, Green's plans are unlikely to include a takeover attempt on the merged company. Given the recent upward movement of ITV's stock, he would need far deeper pockets.
