French auto giant PSA Peugeot Citroën may relaunch in the US, judging by comments from chairman Jean-Martin Folz.

The world's sixth-largest carmaker abandoned the American market in 1992 after unsuccessful attempts to sell its 405 model there. However, Folz appears keen to try again.

"We're not simply unhappy about not being in the US; we really want to be there," the Peugeot boss told reporters this week.

Folz has expressed interest in the US market before, but this is the firmest sign so far that the auto firm may attempt to cross the Atlantic again.
