PURCHASE, New York: PepsiCo has announced the appointment of Jill Beraud (pictured), former cmo of womenswear and lingerie company Victoria's Secret, to the new position of worldwide cmo, responsible for developing strategy across the company's entire portfolio of brands.

Beraud spent over a decade at Limited Brands, the owner of Victoria's Secret, and was much-praised for her work on its Express and Bath & Body Works offerings, and also had a five-year stint as a brand manager at Procter & Gamble.

She will report directly to Pepsi ceo Indra Nooyi, and is charged with delivering innovation and growth across all of the company's products, from its eponymous cola brand to Quaker and Frito-Lay.

Says Nooyi: "Never have we integrated our marketing efforts in a holistic, global and disciplined fashion across the PepsiCo enterprise.

"Jill has a proven track record of building brands and delivering profitable sales growth through innovative marketing."

Earlier this year, PepsiCo announced plans to spend $1 billion (€792m; £686m) on developing its operations in China, and it also recently appointed TBWA/Chiat/Day as its new US agency of record.
