PARIS: Mobile phone network Orange and French media conglomerate Audiovisuel Extérieur de la France are to join forces to broadcast news and current affairs content on TV, the web and mobile phones around the world.
News channel France 24 will now be broadcast on Orange networks in 13 countries, up from the current six; and on 36 different channels across the web, IPTV, mobile and satellite services.
It will also be shown, in French and English, on Orange TV, as well as streamed over the internet and on mobiles, with an Arabic version set to launch in April this year.
Radio France International will also be made available in a greater number of countries via mobile phones, including six African nations, and also is likely to work on joint projects with France 24.
Orange will also provide an interactive service enabling viewers to watch content from any of France 24's broadcasts, as well as providing news updates every half an hour.
