The inaugural leadership of new UK trade body the Communications Agencies Federation has been decided.

Unveiled in December [WAMN: 05-Dec-02], the CAF brings together existing trade organisations the Institute of Practitioners in Advertising, the Public Relations Consultants Association and the Marketing Communication Consultants Association. Under its banner, the trio will coordinate their activities and organise joint projects.

Its first chairman is Matthew Hooper (MCCA president), supported by secretary Hamish Pringle (IPA director general). After six months, they will be replaced by Graham Lancaster (PRCA president) and Scott Knox (MCCA director) respectively.

The CAF’s first venture is to get involved in the joint initiative between the IPA and the Incorporated Society of British Advertisers to compile a best practice code on briefing.
