Best practice guidance and events coverage regarding content marketing were all heavily downloaded by Warc subscribers this year, with Warc's own Content Revolution trends report topping the list of the most-viewed paper on the subject.

The report, subtitled Find the right content strategy for your brand, included analysis of various kinds of content strategy currently being used by marketers, and featured examples from brands including Nike, Audi and beer brand Dos Equis.

Meanwhile, an event report from TV:Xperience World, looking into Red Bull's content strategy, was Warc's second most-viewed content marketing paper. Red Bull is a recognised leader in its use of the channel, having a long-held association with extreme sports and achieving massive earned media support with its sponsorship of Felix Baumgartner's "space jump" earlier this year.

In third was a paper from IAB UK, Britain's digital marketing trade body, on The future of content, looking into best practices for content marketers, and discussing content seeding strategies and ways of measuring campaign success. Another best practice paper, an Admap article from LondonStock.com, How content marketing works, came fourth.

And rounding out the top five was another event report, this time focusing on fast food chain Subway. Subway sets new standards in content marketing discussed the company's content tie-ups with US network TV shows like Community, The Office and The Biggest Loser.
