LONDON: As flagged late last week, James Murdoch has brought in a wholesale re-shuffle of management, marketing and commercial operations at News International, which publishes four UK national newspapers, including The Times and tabloid sibling The Sun.

Paul Hayes, managing director of Times Newspapers, will become MD of a new commercial division, leading advertising sales for The Times and The Sunday Times, News of the World and The Sun.

Mike Anderson, previously MD of the tabloid division News Group Newspapers, will lead digital and development, overseeing websites and internet businesses.

The will both report directly to Murdoch.

NI MD Clive Milner will become chief operating officer with a remit across the groups' print and online operations.

A chief marketing officer is likely to be appointed from outside the businesses.

Comments Murdoch: "These appointments will streamline and strengthen our management team."
