Irish financial newspaper the Sunday Business Post has been sold by Britain’s Trinity Mirror to family-owned publisher Thomas Crosbie Holdings for £6.1 million ($8.8m; €9.9m), subject to regulatory approval.

The title joins publications such as the Irish Examiner and Evening Echo at Cork-headquartered Thomas Crosbie, one of the Republic’s biggest newspaper groups.

Trinity, the UK’s number one paper publisher, will use the cash to pay for its investment in national British titles the Daily Mirror, Sunday Mirror and People. It bought the Sunday Business Post in August 1997 for £5.5m.
