Deutsche Telekom’s directories unit DeTeMedien is being targeted for takeover by a group of the publishers that produce its yellow pages.

Around one hundred companies publish DT’s listings. An unspecified number of these firms has approached investment bank Sal Oppenheim for advice on a bid for the unit.

The telecoms giant is considering selling DeTeMedien as it tries to reduce its debt mountain. The unit is expected to attract bids of up to €1 billion ($1.07bn; £0.65bn).
