Der Spiegel, the German weekly news magazine that covers all aspects of the country's modern life, has produced an English language version of one of its special supplements.

The Germans, a guide to all things Teutonic, aims to bring the magazine and, indeed, the entire nation to the attention of a wider audience. There are 100,000 copies on newsstands across the globe.

Among the advertisers are German carmakers Volkswagen and Daimler Chrysler and golbal transport firm DHL.

If 'The Germans' is well received publisher, Spiegel Verlag, will consider further English editions for future supplements.
