Hot on the heels of similar reports from Germany [WAMN: 29-Jan-02] comes the news that French business sentiment has improved for the second month in succession.

The business confidence index of national statistics office Insee edged forward from 91 in December to 92 this month, continuing the rebound from November’s nadir of 89.

French firms, said Insee, are recovering from a build-up in inventories in 2001 and are enjoying full order books. However, many are still anticipated to reduce prices in the coming twelve months.
