The players in the Cordiant Communications melodrama have taken their curtain calls, some to a decidedly mixed reception. A few will go on to stardom under new management, others to their local Job Centre. Today the curtain rises again with a change of cast – as yet unbilled – chosen by impresario Sir Martin Sorrell.
According to a Cordiant press statement issued yesterday: “At a Court Hearing this morning, the Court sanctioned the Scheme of Arrangement under which WPP Group plc will acquire the entire issued share capital of Cordiant Communications Group plc. Accordingly, the acquisition of Cordiant by WPP is expected to complete tomorrow, Friday 1 August 2003.
