LOUISVILLE, Kentucky: Brown-Forman Corporation has agreed to buy the tequila business of Mexico's Grupo Industrial Herradura for $876 million (€685.23m; £461.83m).

The deal also embraces super-premium tequila brand Herradura and its sibling premium El Jimador, plus the New Mix tequila-based ready-to-drink concoction.

The 136-year old business brings with it a dowry that includes tequila production facilities and a sales and distribution operation in Mexico.
