LONDON: The game plan of three environmental activists who invaded the London office of WPP Group's Wunderman network is nebulous to say the least.
But thanks to the efforts of London's famed Flying Squad (pictured) and the agency's tolerance, the incursive trio were ejected to freedom after charges of "burglary of pens, paper and phone calls" were dropped.
The threesome barricaded themselves for four hours in a conference room, opposite the office of Wunderman EMEA chief executive Marcus Starke.
The action was part of the so-called Fossil Fools Day, a worldwide campaign against businesses deemed to be major contributors to global warming.
It seems they were protesting, not against Wunderman but two of its clients – Land Rover and aircraft manufacturer BAE Systems.
Wunderman has generously waived recompense for the loss of all those corporate paperclips.
But from now on even visiting clients will be subjected to iris ID scans before gaining admission to Wunderman's stationery store. And ad salesmen will be shot on sight.
