COLOGNE: Following a flurry of press reports, the public prosecutor's office here has opened an investigation into allegations of bribery by Martin Krapf (pictured), managing director of RTL Group's time-buying subsidiary IP Deutschland.

Krapf has said publicly that the intends to be cooperative with the investigators.

The probe follows December's move by Munich prosecutors against Peter Christmann, head of sales and marketing at ProSiebenSat.1 Media.

Both investigations follow the passing of documents to prosecutors by the Federal Cartel Office, currently investigating share deals and payments to media-buyers, both in cash and free ad spots.

Meantime, Aegis Germany's former managing director Alexsander Ruzicka goes on trial shortly on fraud charges related to TV trading irregularities.
